Admission to The McMillan Academy of Law Pre-Requisite
Applicants must research requirements for admission and to practice law based on the state in which they intend to go to law school whether accredited or non accredited.
Applicant Counseling - Counseling is available for those individuals interested in applying or transferring to The McMillan Academy of Law. Any concerns regarding the admission process, academic standards and/ or challenges to attending school can be addressed.
Admission Requirements For Juris Doctor Degree
JD Degree
In order to attain a Jurisprudence Doctorate in Law (JD) degree, a student must have a Bachelor’s Degree or 60-semester units transferable per Education Code Requirement as a pre-requisite.
McMillan Law Academy Applicants;
1. An applicant with a degree - An applicant with a Bachelor’s Degree from a qualified institution.
2. An applicant without a degree -
a. An applicant who has completed an Associate’s Degree from a qualified institution.
b. An applicant who has completed a minimum of 60-semester units of which 90% are applicable towards a Bachelor’s Degree from a qualified institution.
The student’s cumulative grade point average has to be above the requirement for graduation from that institution. The pre-legal education obtained has to satisfy the requirements pursuant Business and Professions
Code Section 6060.
Evaluation of Pre-Legal Education- Pre-legal evaluations pursuant Business and Professions Code Section 6060 may be attained by filing a pre-legal transcript evaluation for determination of their eligibility to begin law study with The State Bar of California. Law schools may file an application on behalf of a potential student. The following are required;
a. A completed Application for Evaluation of Pre-Legal Education form.
b. A cashier’s check or money order made payable to The State Bar of California for $100.
c. All official college transcripts.
